Assingment : BRANDING @ BUS STOP.

Bus stop are popular places for advertisers as many people from every walk of lives use public transport or commute to work will come in contact with at least 1 bus stop everyday. Multiple advertisements and media types can been seen in such places from static print to the more dynamic time-based media.

Form Follow Function or Function Follow Form

Form follows function is a principle associated with modern architecture and industrial design in the 20th century. The principle is that the shape of a building or object should be primarily based upon its intended function or purpose.

In the context of design professions form follows function intuitively seems like good sense, but on closer examination it becomes problematic and open to interpretation. Linking the relationship between the form of an object and its intended purpose is not always by itself a complete design solution.

Mies van der Rohe says that he did not stand against the form, but he think that form is a goal of the designing process. Rohe thinks that function follows form always end up with formalism, satisfied the building’s appearance from outside view, but we don’t know what will be happen inside.

But, many architects also do their design by not doing the same step, they design the form of the building first, and later design the lay-out next to be mixed up with that. Yes the building became magnificent, superb, and iconic, its appearance will looks like a sculpture.

I was to re-design this signage since its look not nice and can't attract people. And the flower in front of the signage have interrupt people to see the signage more clearly.

Classical prudent design may have always considered environmental factors; however, the environmental movement beginning in the 1940s has made the concept more explicit

It was also a placed to make marketing which is offer customer experience in making contact with the brand.

There are three types of E.D in advertising :

• Thematic - explains the importance themes in a project.
• Tactical sales / promotion - Well planned idea to promote the product.
• Public relations - corporate relationship between company and customer and how they established it.

Task : Concept Store & Experience

I choose Lovely lace for the concept stores & experience since i love Lovely Lace damn much. Lovely Lace selling a craft product, gift items and home made decorations. And i like the smell of the stores so much.

The setup for this stores always look like a countrysides centuries ago. Lovely window display - one can have a good idea what to do with the items by watching the display.

The design for this stores was well organized. We can looked from the arrangement of the products. This stores use mostly flowerly concept to attract people besides the smell of the potpouri,and etc.

Lovely Lace stores selling the accesories for your home,car,office, selling a craft,gift item and also a home made decorations. And now they are selling for a baby products which is have gown,handkerchief and others. They are trying to sell something to attract people who like to look sweet and nicely.

The services among the owner, workers and customers was good. They are very friendly. and you can also ask them whatever you want or something that you even don't know about the function of the products that they are selling.

How i wish i have my own stores one fine day.~

WHAT IS ENVIRONMENTAL DESIGN?

Process of addressing surrounding environmental parameters when devising plans, programs, policies, buildings, or products. Classical prudent design may have always considered environmental factors; however, the environmental movement beginning in the 1940s has made the concept more explicit.

It also can also refer to the applied arts and sciences dealing with creating the human-designed environment.Successful environmental design is a synergy between a building, landscape, or even a product and its surroundings, to the benefit of both.

The coordinator for this class is Mr.Zulkifli Bin. Che Haris and Mr.Nazri Zainuddin will also joined the class.

The class should be intresting and we will have fun while making the design :)
